Fall sports action involving cross country, women's soccer, men's soccer, volleyball and golf gets underway in mid-to-late August in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Fall Schedules Now Available on CCC Web Site
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Fall schedules for the sports of cross country, soccer, golf and volleyball can now be accessed on the Cascade Collegiate Conference web site.
In cross country, Concordia University will open the 2008 campaign by participating in the Western Oregon Invitational in Monmouth Aug. 29. The CCC campaign concludes with the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships Nov. 8 at Lincoln Park in Seattle, where the league's men's and women's team champions will earn automatic bids to the NAIA Championships Nov. 22 in Kenosha, Wis.
In men's soccer, Evergreen will lift the lid on the 2008 season when it hosts University of Great Falls on Aug. 21 in Olympia. The Cascade Collegiate Conference championships, a six-team single-elimination tournament to decide the league's automatic bid to the NAIA Championships, are scheduled to take place from Nov. 1-12 at campus sites.
Evergreen will also open the women's soccer season when it plays hosts to Doane College on Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. Like the men, the top six teams in the CCC will advance to the league's single-elimination postseason tournament Nov. 1-12 to determine the league's automatic bid to the NAIA Championships.
In volleyball, defending conference co-champion Southern Oregon gets things underway for CCC teams when it hosts the Raider Classic in Ashland Aug. 22-23. A six-team CCC postseason tournament scheduled for Nov. 11-15 at campus sites will take place to determine the league's automatic bid to the NAIA Championships.
