PORTLAND, Ore. - Cascade College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Matt Murphy has added four more players to his 2008-2009 signing class. Krystal Glass, Katarina Olivo, Kristina Overcast, and Amanda Pacheco will all be joining the Thunderbirds next fall.

Krystal Glass and Katarina Olivo come to Cascade from Susanville, California where they played two years for Mark Nareau at Lassen College. They will rejoin current T-Bird guard Robin Swain, whom they teamed with to win a 2007 Golden Valley Conference Championship. Glass prepped at Pershing County High School in Lovelock, NV where she led her team to the Nevada 2A State Championships her senior season. She was also named to the All-Greater Nevada, All-Region, and All-League teams. Katarina Olivo attended Churchill County High School in Fallon, NV where she was named All-League and All-Greater Nevada her junior and senior seasons.

Kristina Overcast was the starting point guard for her three years at LaSalle High School in Morelia, Mexico.  She was also selected for the Michoacan state team each year from 2003-08 for the National Youth Olympics.  She played on the NOE Monarchs team that toured Portland in November 2007 and played against area high schools.  The NOE Center is a community center ministry in Morelia, Mexico supported by NOE International of Portland (formerly Brindar Foundation).

Amanda Pacheco arrives from Merced College in Merced, California where she was coached by Allen Huddleston. Merced finished 21-12 and ranked #12 in Northern California last season. The 5’10 forward played high school basketball at Golden Valley High School. She played her college freshman year at Modesto Junior College with current Cascade College forward Amy Russell.

"All four of these young women have had tremendous basketball careers and are superior students," stated Murphy. "We are very pleased that they have chosen Cascade College and are excited about their future here."
