Oregon Tech Shuts Out Northwest
KIRKLAND, Wash. – Oregon Tech defeated Northwest University, 1-0, in a non-conference soccer match on a warm, 83 degree and sunny afternoon here.
OIT’s Amy Furlan (Fresh., Medford, Ore.) put the ball in the net off a corner kick from the left side and assist from Adrienne Busch (Soph., Grants Pass, Ore.) at the 24:45 mark of the first half as their defense held the Eagles scoreless for the victory. Northwest U. out shot OIT (1-0, 0-0) 9 to 7 with Eagle Shauna Marshall (Sr., Bothell, WA) taking 6 shots, 4 shots on goal that were denied by OIT senior goalie Jaclyn Unruh (Medford, Ore.). All the nine shots NU took could not find the net as OIT goalie Jaclyn Unruh made 5 saves in the contest to earn the shut out victory.
Jessica Kane (Fresh., Issaquah, WA) made 3 saves on the day for the Eagles who are now 1-1 on the season.
Northwest U. hosts Central Washington University on Friday, September 5 and the Owls will travel to play Willamette University on August 29.
