LCSC Shuts Out Northwest
PORTLAND, Ore.- The Eagles ran into a tough 16th ranked Lewis-Clark State College team for the second week in a row and fell 3-0 (17-25, 12-25, 20-25) in the second day of the Fairfield Inn and Suites Portland-North Harbour Invitational Volleyball Tournament at Concordia University. NU fell to LCSC 3-0 last weekend in Lewiston.
NU (3-4) was led by Lauren Holtz's (Soph., Brier, WA) 11 kills and 7 digs. Tarah Petrick (Soph., Monroe, WA) contributed 16 assists and 6 digs for the Eagles and freshman Anu Akamine (Hauula, HI) added another 5 kills and 6 digs.
LCSC's leader was Anile Clemente who finished with 13 kills and 8 digs. Lisa Davis had 19 assists and teammate Katie Hinrichs added 11 digs for the victors from Lewiston.
The Eagles begin Cascade Conference play next weekend as they travel to Portland again to take on Conccrdia on Friday, September 5 and then take a trip down I-5 to Salem to play Corban College on Saturday, September 6.
