MONMOUTH, Ore. – In its first road game of the season, Corban's women's soccer team fell to NCAA Division II member Western Oregon, 2-0, Saturday despite a game-high five saves by senior goalkeeper Karyn Allen (Merlin, Ore.) at the WOU Soccer Field.

Playing for the first time all season away from the lovely confines of Warrior Field, Corban hung tough with its D-II opponent over the game's opening 48-plus minutes before succumbing to a pair of second half goals.

In the 49th minute, Western Oregon's Melinda Ingalls tallied her first of two goals on the afternoon when she headed in a corner kick from teammate Kristen Werhane.

Just under twenty minutes later, Ingalls scored her second goal of the game when she poked home a center pass from Jordann Gilmer that went across the mouth of the goal.

Overall, Western Oregon out shot the Warriors by 14 (20-6) that included a 13-2 clip over the game's final 45 minutes.

Allen played all 90 minutes between the pipes for Corban en route to recording her game-high in saves. Meanwhile, Western Oregon's Brittney Rigtrup recorded a team-high three saves en route to picking up the win via a shutout.

With the loss, Corban falls to 1-2-0 on the season while Western Oregon remains unbeaten at 2-0-0. The Warriors are back in action on Tuesday, September 2nd, when they travel north for a 1:00 p.m. contest against NCAA Division II member Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington.
