Match Ends in Double Overtime 0-0 Tie

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Evergreen (1-4-1) slightly outshot Lewis and Clark College (Portland, Ore) in the game, but both teams saw the majority of their attempts go wide in Sunday's 0-0 tie.

The Pioneers (1-0-3) Katie Browning kept the defense on their toes throughout the game with 7 shots and 2 shots on goal.

For Evergreen, Kate Green and Hannah Ettengoff were among Geoducks that put the pressure on with 2 and 3 shots on goal respectively.

It was fun soccer in the final overtimes, with both teams opening dangerous cannon fire on the opposing goal.

In the first overtime LCC nearly won it with a couple of narrow missess by LCC players. Kelsey Harrity had a shot go just wide in the final 10 seconds.

Not long before that Evergreen nearly suffered from a bad defensive pass in the goal box. Browning found a clear shot with the stray ball and shot left corner of the penalty box. The outstretched leg of ESC defender, Kaleena White, deflected the ball out of bounds.

Evergreen had their own opportunities spoiled in the second overtime, with four shots in the final four minutes going wide or saved. On target shots by both Ettengoff and Rebecca Chapman were saved by LCC keeper Kate MacDougall.

The Geoducks play again on September 20th, opening conference play in Kirkland, WA against Northwest University.
