Junior Aaron Franklin has registered a team-high 46 saves in 740 minutes between the pipes this season for the Warriors.
Franklin Records Game-High in Saves, but Corban Falls to Warner Pacific

SALEM, Ore. – Despite a game-high six saves by junior goalkeeper Aaron Franklin (Red Bluff, Calif.), Corban's men's soccer team fell to the Knights of Warner Pacific, 2-0, in Cascade Collegiate Conference cross-divisional action Saturday afternoon on Warrior Field.
For the second straight game, the Corban defense was able to keep its opponents off the broad for more than 60 minutes before yielding a goal. Unfortunately, the Warriors were unable to answer the two goals the Knights were able to net late in the second half.
In the first half, Warner Pacific led the shots category by nine (13-4), as the Knight attack challenged Corban’s defense. However, Franklin recorded three saves, as the Warriors thwarted the WPC offense to keep the game scoreless heading into the half.
The strong Corban defensive stand continued in the second half, as the Warriors held Warner Pacific scoreless for another 22 minutes. However, the Knights broke through in the 68th minute on a Luis Galvan direct kick from 18 yards out that found the upper right corner of the goal.
Twelve minutes later, Warner Pacific struck again as Chris Price chipped a Evan Lehner through ball over Franklin’s arms in the goal for the final two-goal margin.
Corban mounted a strong counterattack in the half, with near misses by juniors Rob Saffeels (Salem, Ore.) and Kaleb Herring (Waco, Texas), but the Warriors were unable to break through on any of their six shots in the half.
Franklin anchored the Warrior defense with his game-high in saves, while Warner Pacific's keeper Ted Latta tallied five saves in a complete-game shutout for the Knights.
With the loss, Corban falls to 2-5-1 on the season, including 1-2-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action. Meanwhile, Warner Pacific improves to 5-2-0 overall with a 1-0-0 record in CCC play. The Warriors while take the field again on Wednesday, September 24th, when they travel north to Walla Walla, Wash. to take on the Wolves of Walla Walla University in a non-conference match set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
