Geoducks Begin Weekend Play With 3-0 Loss to Yotes
OLYMPIA, Wash. - The Geoducks played well against the Yotes of College of Idaho tonight, but were unable to boast a game win in the match. Evergreen lost 3-0 tonight and will face another conference foe, Eastern Oregon, Saturday night at 7:00 PM.
Head coach Clay Blackwood was pleased at the improvement of Evergreen's game play tonight.
"We did well against a great team. Errors cost us at key times and stopped our momentum, especially in the second game."
Added Blackwood, "It was great to have Hailey (Harris) back in the game. She's a team player".
Harris suffered a concusion in an early season game that kept her out of play in recent weeks.
The College of Idaho, currently ranked 5th the conference, was led by Kristin Henning and Sarah Bueller in kills with 7 apiece as the team tallied 38 kills. Ali German tallied 13 assists and Madie Machurek contributed 10.
For Evergreen, Jessica Dubois and Kandice Gleaves had 7 and 6 kills respectively. Setter Katie Huston assisted on 14 of the points.
Tomorrow's game with the Mounties begins at 7:00 PM.
