OLYMPIA, Wash. - After two games the teams were tied at one game apiece. Heading into the next round, Evergreen dropped to a negative attack percentage in the third game and allowed Northwest to regain their momentum in the Geoducks 3-1 loss Tuesday night.

The Geoducks lost the first game 25-17 after falling behind the Eagles just before the mid-point in the game. Luck was better for Evergreen in the second game as the team kept ahead from the beginning. This time it was NU that fell victim to their own errors, hitting 0% of their attacks after equal errors negated any kills. Evergreen had their best attack percentage of the night in this game, hitting .107%.

In game three Northwest kept Evergreen on the defensive the majority of plays. NU's Lauren Holtz was able to stay on the service line 8 times in a row and contributed 5 kills in the game out of her total of 11 in the match.

The Geoducks rallied back in the fourth game and looked like they were going to send the match into a 5th. A burst of momentum from Eagles squad tied the game at 20-20. 5 kills later NU won the game 25-22.

For Evergreen, Kandice Gleaves had a strong night with 13 kills and a percentage of .333. Setter Katie Huston had 30 assists but unfortunately was called for 7 ball handling errors on sets. Madeline Blevens and Hailey Harris tallied 4 and 6 kills respectively. Blevens had an service ace and a block assist and Harris totaled 4 service aces and 18 defensive digs.

In addition to Holtz, other NU players that stood out were Alisha Larion who had 9 kills, a service ace and a block assist. Madeliene Krahn had two solo blocks and 1 block assist to go with her 4 kills.
