Northwest U. and Embry Riddle Battle To 1-1 Tie
KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University and Embry-Riddle U. (Prescott, Arizona) battled to a 1-1 tie this afternoon in a non-conference match-up in Kirkland. No overtime period was played since it was a non-conference game for the teams and agreed upon by the coaches.
Junior Brittany Griffin (Chandler, AZ) put Embry-Riddle (5-2-1) into the lead at 10:57 in the first half as she put the ball into the net after the ball came off the post. 33 minutes later, Northwest’s Brittanique Clayberg (Soph., Snohomish, WA/ Lake Stevens HS) put the ball in from 25 yards out to tie the score (43:41). No overtime period was played since it was a non-conference game for the teams.
Northwest (1-1-1) out shot E-R 10 to 8 and Embry-Riddle’s goalie, Chelsea Heck, had 5 saves on the day. NU’s goalkeeper, Jordan Holmes had 2 saves for the Eagles.
NU will host Lewis & Clark College (Portland) on September 13 in another non-conference contest following a home scrimmage with North Idaho College on September 12.
