Despite a decisive advantage shots and possession, the Whitman College men's soccer team could not find the goal, as the Missionaries and The College of Idaho played to a scoreless draw at Symms Field.

Whitman (1-0-3) held a 25-14 edge in shots - including a 10-3 margin in the second half, but could not find the goal against the host Yotes.  C of I keeper Aaron Reynolds was stellar all day, making 11 saves to notch his second-straight shutout.

The Missionaries found the goal in the 34th minute, but the tally was disallowed due to an offsides call.

The Coyotes (1-1-1) had a chance to steal the victory in the 89th minute, as Antonio Bautista cracked a shot from left of the goal, but Whitman keeper Brett Axelrod made a diving save to send the match to overtime.

In the 97th minute, Greg Phillips nearly won it with a drive inside the 18, but it ricocheted off the left post and out.  The Coyotes nearly took home the Golden Goal in the 107th minute, as Garga Caserta got behind the Whitman defense, but his 1-on-1 shot went into the side netting.

The Yotes return to action next Friday, hosting Pacific University at 4 p.m.
