ARCATA, Calif. — Unleashing all its offense in the first 45 minutes, Humboldt State rolled to a 3-0 win over Oregon Institute of Technology on Friday in the Redwood Bowl.

The Jacks blasted seven shots on goal in the game's first seven minutes, connecting on Ben Vasser's shot off a pass from Matt Colwell. Fourteen minutes into the game, Roland Demonbynes gathered a ball from Lyle Menk and dribbled it in past Tech’s keeper for the game's second score.

Scott Mariani capped the first half scoring with a goal just before halftime, set up by Jordan Anderson's assist.

Following the break, the Lumberjacks continued the onslaught, mustering 13 more shots on goal for a total of 25. But OIT goalkeeper Travis Bille came up with seven second-half saves to prevent further damage.

Humboldt State goalkeeper Drew Ryan made three saves, including a first-half goal-saver when he came far out of the box to break up a one-on-one, earning his second shutout in as many tries.

The Owls will face non-league opponent University of Great Falls in their next action in Newberg, OR with play set for 2:00pm.
