Klamath Falls, Ore. – The Oregon Tech Volleyball team was focused tonight in its bid to upset the No. 9 ranked Lady Yotes, as the Owls knocked off the Cascade Conference favorite in three straight sets 25-16, 25-15, 25-23 here at Danny Miles Court.

After an Eastern Oregon upset win tonight in Ashland, the Owls are now atop the Cascade Conference standing at 2-0 and 7-2 overall, while the Yotes dropped both on the road and are sitting at 0-2 in conference play and 3-6 overall.

The Lady Owls used a 10-0 run to secure a set one win and runs of four and another of five to jump out to a 15-5 lead in set two. Down 21-9 in set two, the Yotes strung together their only consecutive points in the set to draw to single digits at 21-12, but got no closer, as the momentum shifted back to Tech winning 25-15. The Owls lost the lead for the first time tonight, when the Yotes scored the first point of set three and would eventually push the lead to 13-10 and 14-11. Tech would then claw their way back into the game and regain the lead at 19-18. Both teams then saw ties at 19-19 and 21-21 before the Owls were able to string together three straight points, taking the set to match point and would then win on an exclamation point kill to take set three 25-23.

Senior Krista Wooley (Reedsport, OR) electrified the crowd with her power shots, collecting a match high 15 kills, followed by both Anna Leal (Jr. Yreka, CA) and Megan Christensen (So. Klamath Falls, OR) with 8 kills each. Krystie Vea (Jr. Honolulu, HI) finished the night with a match high 15 digs and Katy Nelson (Fr. Klamath Falls, OR) 11.

The Yotes were led in kills by Kristin Henning and Sarah Buhler with 10 apiece, while Whitney Owen led C of I in digs with seven and Madie Machurek in assists with 22.

The Owls will look to keep their CCC record clean when they travel to Washington State to face Northwest University and The Evergreen State College next Friday and Saturday.
