PORTLAND -- Eastern Oregon’s Neil Fryer, a 6-4 senior forward from Bremerton, Wash., has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in men’s basketball.

In three games last week, all victories by the Mountaineers, Fryer averaged 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and shot 64 percent from the field as EOU improved to 15-5 overall and 8-4 in conference play.

Fryer’s week included a career-high 41 points on 17 of 24 shooting from the field in a 105-101 come-from- behind overtime victory over Cascade College on Saturday. Earlier in the week, also against Cascade, Fryer scored all 13 of his points in the second half to help power the Mounties to a 95-74 win in La Grande. In a 77-69 win over then-16th-ranked Warner Pacific on Friday night, Fryer had 24 points, six rebounds and three assists.

EOU enters the week tied for second place in the CCC. This weekend, the Mountaineers are at home to host fifth-ranked Oregon Tech on Friday night and Southern Oregon on Saturday night.
