PORTLAND -- Five men’s teams and three women’s teams from the Cascade Collegiate Conference are receiving notice in this week’s NAIA Top 25 basketball polls, released Monday by the national office.

On the men’s side, defending national champion Oregon Tech (19-3, 9-3 CCC) climbed two spots to the No. 5 position after posting victories over then-10th-ranked Evergreen and Northwest last weekend.

Warner Pacific (15-5, 8-4), which split its weekend series with Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho, jumped three spots to the No. 13 position. Eastern Oregon (15-5, 8-4), which had been ranked as high as fifth this year but dropped out of the poll two weeks ago, has returned to the national rankings on the strength of six consecutive victories, including a road win over then-No. 16 Warner Pacific on Friday night. EOU is ranked 18th this week after receiving votes in last week’s poll.

Evergreen (12-7, 8-4) dropped from No. 10 to No. 25 after going 1-2 last week.

College of Idaho (12-10, 8-4), one of the hottest teams in the CCC, received votes in the poll for the second consecutive week.

On the women’s side, College of Idaho (21-1, 12-0) continued its steady climb up the polls. The Yotes, who have won 21 consecutive games since opening the season with a loss to Westminster (Utah), are ranked eighth in the country, the highest ever ranking for C of I under head coach Reagan Rossi. C of I will have its ranking put to the test on Friday night when the Yotes play host to No. 25-ranked Southern Oregon (17-4, 9-3) in Caldwell. SOU has moved back into the Top 25 on the strength of six consecutive victories.

Concordia (18-2, 11-1), which trails College of Idaho in the CCC standings by one game, jumped from 17th to 15th in this week’s poll. The Cavaliers, whose only league loss came to College of Idaho, are at Evergreen and Northwest this weekend.

There will be two Top 25 matchups in the CCC this week, both on Friday night. On the men’s side, No. 18 Eastern Oregon hosts No. 5 Oregon Tech in La Grande, while on the women’s side, No. 8 College of Idaho entertains No. 25 Southern Oregon in Caldwell.
