SALEM, Ore. – In the midst of a four-game home winning streak, Corban's men's basketball team is also attempting to keep another streak alive that dates back to the 1987-88 season.

On December 1, 1987, then-Western Baptist College went 0-for-7 from beyond the three-point line in a game against then-Western Oregon State College. Since then, the Warriors have made at least one successful 3-pointer in a record 743 games and counting.

Prior to the 2008-09 season when the men's three-point line was moved back 12 inches to 20-feet, nine-inches, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) instituted a three-point line before the start of the 1986-87 season that was 19-feet, nine-inches away from the basket.

Corban's current streak is tops among all levels of men's collegiate basketball. The current record holders at the various NCAA levels are...

* Division I -- University of Nevada-Las Vegas (726 games and counting)
* Division II -- Kentucky Wesleyan College (607 games and counting)
* Division III -- Salisbury University (536 games and counting)

Besides the current streak, Warrior men's basketball also made an NAIA record 564 three-pointers during the 1989-90 season to go along with a school-record 25 three-pointers against Southern Oregon during the 1990-91 season that ties an NAIA single-game record.

At the current pace, Corban would surpass the 750-game mark later this season while nearing the 800-game mark during the 2010-11 season.
