Klamath Falls, Ore. – After a slow start last night, the No. 1 ranked Oregon Tech men’s basketball team was running on all cylinders defeating Concordia University 98-75 tonight at Danny Miles Court.

The Owls improved to 15-1 on the season and back on top of the CCC standings at 5-1. Concordia drops to 5-9 and 0-5 in conference play.

Jguwon Hogges led the Oregon Tech attack with a career-high 28 points, followed by Justin Parnell who knocked down 25 points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out six assists. Josh Wetzler finished the evening with a double-double 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Alex Tiefenthaler led the Cavaliers in scoring with 25 points and grabbed a team-high five rebounds. Steven Vaughn was the only other Cavalier in double figures, finishing with 18 points.

Concordia jumped up 5-4 early, but that was the last lead the Cavs would see the rest of the evening.

The Owls got their first double-digit lead at 22-11 on a Ryan Beesley trey and would eventually push the lead to 41-22 on a Jguwon Hogges layup with 7:25 remaining in the first half. The Owl would continue to tack on points, taking a comfortable 54-30 lead into the intermission.

In the second half the Owls pushed the lead to a 32 point advantage, their largest of the night, making it 77-45 with 13:05 to go.

Concordia would cut the Owl lead to 18 points, 79-61, but an 11-2 Tech run put the game out of reach, as the Owls cruised to an easy 98-75 win.

Oregon Tech will host arch-rival Southern Oregon University in the last game of a three-game homestand on Tuesday, January 6th, with the tip-off set at 7:30 p.m.
