CALDWELL, Idaho - A 34-6 first run in the first half helped Southern Oregon build a 24-point lead, as the No. 25 ranked Raiders withstood a poor shooting second half to upset No. 8 College of Idaho, 75-69, inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The win for Southern (18-4, 10-3 CCC) ended C of I's 21-game win streak and was the first home loss for the Lady Yotes since February of 2008.

Early on, it was all Lady Yotes (21-2), as Nicole Gall hit a pair of three's, sandwiched around a Christon Vander Esch lay-up, as C of I jumped out to an 8-0 lead.  But the Raiders responded, as Whitney Scott hit four three-pointers, Rhiannon Dickison added three, and Emily Brookins and Carly Wood each hit two - all in the period, as SOU built a 52-34 halftime lead.

The C of I would not fold, holding the Raiders without a field goal for a 14-minute stretch in the second half, forcing 16 turnovers - pulling within 68-66 on a Whitney Owen lay-up with 2:03 left.  The Yotes would get a steal on SOU's next possession, but Gall misfired on a go-ahead three - and the Raiders hit 5-of-8 free throws to seal the win.

Dickison led Southern with 25 points, with Scott adding 20.  Jacki Speer had a monster night with 12 points and 20 rebounds - as the Raiders held a commanding 63-44 edge on the glass.

Gall led all scorers with 27 points, three blocks, and five steals - setting a school record with 18 three-point attempts and tying her own school record with 24 field goal attempts.  Vander Esch had a double-double, scoring 20 points with 12 rebounds.

The Lady Yotes return to action tomorrow night, hosting Oregon Tech at 5:30 p.m.
