OIT's Kellie Morey Tabbed CCC Women's Hoops Player of Week
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Oregon Tech junior Kellie Morey, a 5-8 guard from Redmond, Ore., has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in women’s basketball.
Morey registered back-to-back career scoring highs last week as the Owls split a pair of CCC contests. In an 89-87 home victory over Corban College, Morey hit 7 of 10 field goal attempts and scored 20 points. One night later, in a 73-69 loss to league leader Concordia, she sank 9 of 10 attempts from the field on the way to a career-best 24-point performance.
For the week, Morey shot 80 percent (16 of 20) from the field, including 9 of 10 from 3-point range. She currently ranks 11th in the CCC in scoring (13.4 ppg)
The Owls, 9-6 overall and 2-4 in the CCC, host Southern Oregon Tuesday night.
