PORTLAND, Ore.— Concordia University has announced the resignation of head volleyball coach Christopher Duenow after seven seasons with the Cavaliers.

“The University and the Athletic Department want to thank Coach Duenow for his hard work and dedication to Cavalier Athletics the past seven seasons,” Concordia athletic director Matt English said. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Duenow directed the Cavaliers to a 17-13 record in 2008 and led Concordia to a fifth-place finish in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Cavaliers ended their season with a defeat in the first round of the CCC tournament. During his tenure at Concordia, Duenow compiled a 108-89 overall mark and a .545 winning percentage, including an 83-47 (.638) mark in CCC play.

“I want to thank the University for the opportunity to serve as head coach at Concordia,” Duenow said. “I have enjoyed the many relationships I have developed with my players and the other members of the department staff. I wish the volleyball team and the department much success in the future.”

Assistant coach Ray Nunn has been named interim head coach until Duenow’s successor is hired. A search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
