Raiders Notch Seventh Straight Win
ASHLAND, ORE. -- The Southern Oregon volleyball team notched its seventh straight victory with a 25-21, 25-23, 24-26, 26-24 victory over Eastern Oregon tonight at McNeal Pavilion.
Southern Oregon improved to 16- 2 overall and remained in a first place tie with College of Idaho with a 10-1 Cascade Conference mark. Eastern Oregon dropped to 9-7 overall and 7-4 in conference play.
Chelsea Hartman led SOU with 11 kills and Becky Johnstone turned in 28 digs. Eastern Oregon was paced by Haley McEnroe’s 15 kills.
Southern Oregon held the Mountaineers to a .094 attack percentage in the first set to grab control of the match early on and led 8-2 and 17-12 en route to winning the second set.
The Raiders battled back from down 17-12 in the third set and had a chance to win the match serving at 24-23, but kills by Haley McEnroe and Grace DeBoodt and an SOU attack error gave the victory to Eastern.
In the fourth set, SOU led 20-14 and then held on to end the match in four sets.
SOU travels to Concordia Friday night.
