The following Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes were recognized as conference Players of the Week in their respective sports for the period Oct. 12-18:

Women’s Soccer

Offensive – Concordia’s Jessica Ramback (Mill Creek, Wash.), a 5-7 senior forward, posted a pair of game-winning scores, including the golden goal in double overtime vs. OIT. Ramback also had an assist to go along with a goal in a 3-0 victory over Southern Oregon. Five of her 12 goals this season have been game-winners. Other nominees: Denise Powell, Southern Oregon; Tennly Paul-Bowden, Eastern Oregon; Amanda Mendenhall, Corban.

Defensive – Corban’s Jennifer Bassett (Keizer, Ore.), a 5-8 senior goalkeeper, helped the Warriors post their second straight undefeated week. Bassett had a combined 10 saves as Corban defeated Northwest 2-0 and Evergreen 2-1. Other nominees: Jessica Patton, College of Idaho; Allison Seymore, Eastern Oregon; Sonya Daisley-Harrison, Evergreen; Jenna Peterson, Concordia.

Men’s Soccer

Offensive – Northwest’s Alex Taylor (Mill Creek, Wash.), a 5-9 freshman midfielder, scored one goal each in wins over Concordia and Northwest Christian. Taylor leads the Eagles in scoring (6 goals, 3 assists). Other nominees: Corey Johnson, Evergreen; Evan Lehner, Warner Pacific; Chris Smerke, Corban.

Defensive –.Northwest’s Kyle Tatro (Everett, Wash.), a 6-1 sophomore defender, anchored the Eagles’ defense in victories over Concordia and Northwest Christian. Tatro also had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory over Concordia and a goal in a 3-1 victory over Northwest Christian. Other nominees: Aaron Franklin, Corban.

Volleyball

Hitter – Southern Oregon’s Sarah Holgen (Honolulu, Hawaii), a 5-10 sophomore outside hitter, had a huge weekend for the Raiders, who were missing two starters due to illness. In two matches, both road victories, Holgen had 21 kills, 18 digs, five blocks and three aces as SOU beat Concordia and Warner Pacific. Other nominees: Kristin Henning, College of Idaho; Grace Deboodt, Eastern Oregon; Jazzmin Garcia, Evergreen; Leah Gradwohl, Warner Pacific; Mariana Toscano, Concordia; Chandra Baskoro, Corban.

Setter –.Concordia’s Skyler Kamaka (Kaneohe, Hawaii) won the award for the fourth time this season after totaling 77 assists in two matches. Kamaka had 49 assists in a five-set win vs. OIT and 28 in a three-set loss to No. 15 Southern Oregon. She also had 10 digs and four block assists. Other nominees: Naomi Reimer, College of Idaho; Jessica Lea, Eastern Oregon; Meghan De La Rosa, Evergreen; Melita Elliot, Warner Pacific; Megan Dees, Corban.

Libero –.Evergreen’s Chantal Petkus (Richland, Wash.), a 5-6 senior libero, totaled 36 digs and three service aces in two matches for the Geoducks. Other nominees: Whitney Owen, College of Idaho; Kaitlyn Duncan, Eastern Oregon; Rebecca Franke, Corban.

Golf

Men – Northwest Christian’s Justin Ahrens (Eugene, Ore.), a senior, won the award for the third consecutive time. Ahrens led NCU to its third consecutive team victory, finishing second among individuals with a 36-hole total of 145 at the NCU-Pacific dual match.

Women – Northwest Christian’s Ashley King (Blue River, Ore.), a junior, recorded the best two-round individual total in school history, firing rounds of 80-82 to win the NCU-Pacific dual match and lead the Beacons to the team crown. Other nominees: Hailey Thomas, Corban.

Cross Country

Men – Corban’s Caleb Goins (Scio, Ore.), a sophomore, captured his second individual title of the season, as he was the first collegiate runner to cross the finish line at the ninth annual Warner Pacific XC Showcase in Portland. Goins covered the 8K distance in a time of 25:35. Other nominees: Greg Montgomery, College of Idaho; Damion Flores, Eastern Oregon; Dennis McCaffrey, Southern Oregon; Jessy Brown, Concordia.

Women – College of Idaho’s Stephanie Helm (Challis, Idaho), a junior, placed second against an NCAA Division I field at 5,000 feet of elevation. Competing in the Idaho State Open, Helm covered the 3,000-meter distance in a time of 10:24, finishing just two seconds behind one of the premier runners in the Big Sky Conference.
