Dylan Durrell Hat Trick Lifts Tech Past Beacons 5-0
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech scored three goals in less than one minute of play in the second half, two off the foot of Dylan Durrell (Sherwood, Ore.) his second and third goals of the night as the Hustlin’ Owls knocked off Northwest Christian University in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Oregon Tech improves to 8-4-1 on the season and 5-3-1 in CCC with Northwest Christian slipping to 1-12-2 and 0-9-2 in the CCC.
Oregon Tech got on the scoreboard in the 22nd minute when a Beacon defender dropped a ball back to goalie Stephen Melger (Pleasant Hill, Ore.). Melger slipped and fell on the play just as the ball was passed back by his teammate. The ball slowly found its way into the goal for the first score of the night.
Tech’s Dylan Durrell then scored his first goal of the night less than two minutes after the Beacons own goal as he took a great pass from Leo Keiser (Medford, Ore.), dribbled past a defender, and scored in the right side of the net as Tech took a 2-0 lead at the half.
Just four minutes into the second half Durrell was at it again, this time taking the ball after it deflected off a defender. He then quickly dribbled past another defender and scored his second goal on the night. Just 14 seconds later, Durrell scored his third goal of the night, this time taking a cross from Antonio Jaimes (Milton Freewater, Ore.) about seven yards out and buried his shot into the right corner of the goal. Just forty seconds after scoring his third goal of the night, Durrell assisted teammate Dallas Bille (Grants Pass, Ore.) for his third goal of the season and the third goal for Oregon Tech in less than one minute of game time.
For the game Oregon Tech out shot Northwest Christian 19-9 and also held a big advantage in shots on goal 11-5.
The Hustlin’ Owls will travel to Corban College in Salem, Oregon next Tuesday, October 27th before returning home next Friday and Saturday, October 30th and 31st with games against Evergreen State and Northwest University respectively.
