NAIA XC Top 25: SOU, C of I Lead CCC Teams
PORTLAND, Ore. – Five Cascade Collegiate Conference cross country programs – three on the women’s side, two on the men’s – are ranked among the NAIA’s Top 25, according to polls released Wednesday by the national office.
In the women’s Top 25, College of Idaho leads the way in the No. 6 position after an impressive performance against NCAA Division I competition in the Idaho State Open last Saturday. Eastern Oregon University is ranked 23rd. Two other CCC programs – Concordia and Northwest Christian – are receiving votes.
In the men’s Top 25, Southern Oregon is ranked No. 2 behind Malone (Ohio) for the third consecutive week. The Raiders, who won last year’s CCC championship on their way to a fourth-place national finish, captured the team title at last weekend’s Concordia/Puma Invitational in Portland. College of Idaho moved up one spot to the No. 12 position, while Eastern Oregon remained in the No. 22 position. Concordia earned 82 poll points to rank 27th nationally.
