Jessie Link had seven kills and five blocks in C of I win
OLYMPIA, Wash. - Ciciley Fox led all players with ten kills and The College of Idaho combined for nine team blocks, as the Lady Yotes secured their 11th-straight postseason berth with a 25-14, 25-11, 25-19 victory over Evergreen State inside the CRC Gymnasium.
The No. 8 ranked Lady Yotes (18-2, 13-1 CCC) remain tied with Southern Oregon atop the Cascade Conference standings with four matches left in the regular-season - however, grabbed one of the four spots in the CCC Tournament, set for Nov. 13-14.
Set 1 belonged to Fox, who had five spikes in the frame, as the Yotes jumped out to a 15-7 lead and rolled to the win. Set 2 saw the Coyote middles get involved, as Kristin Henning had four kills and Marcella Hernandez add three in the victory. The finale was tighter, as the Geoducks (1-21, 1-13) played the Yotes to a 14-14 tie, before a Hernandez kill gave The C of I the lead for good - as she and Madison Curtis each had four kills in the set.
Hernandez finished the night with nine kills in ten swings, while Jessie Link added seven kills and five blocks. Naomi Reimer had 25 assists, with Whitney Owen recording a game-high nine digs - the first time this season she has failed to reach double-digit digs.
Evergreen got seven kills from Jazzmin Garcia, 18 assists from Meghan De La Rosa, and 13 digs from Chantal Petkus.
The Lady Yotes close out the road portion of the regular season tomorrow night at Northwest University.
