PORTLAND, Ore. – Led by the 12th-ranked College of Idaho Coyotes, the Cascade Collegiate Conference has three teams listed in the NAIA Division II women’s basketball preseason Top 25 poll, the national office announced Monday.

The CCC’s 18th season of women’s basketball tips off Tuesday when Eastern Oregon faces Walla Walla University in a non-conference tilt.

The Yotes, who last week were tabbed as the CCC’s preseason favorite in balloting by the conference coaches, are coming off a 29-5 campaign and a regular season CCC co-championship. College of Idaho was rated 15th in the final poll of the 2008-09 season.

Other CCC programs to draw Top 25 notice include Southern Oregon University, which is rated 18th, and Concordia University, which is rated 21st. The Raiders finished third in the CCC on their way to a final record of 29-5; the Cavaliers shared the CCC regular season title and won the league’s postseason tournament title on way to a final record of 29-4.

All three teams advanced to last year’s national tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
