NAIA Women’s Volleyball Top 25

PORTLAND, Ore. – Concordia’s seventh-ranked women’s soccer team and College of Idaho’s eighth-ranked volleyball team headline a group of four Cascade Collegiate Conference programs listed in NAIA Top 25 polls released Tuesday.

Concordia’s soccer program, which leads the country with 16 victories, has been ranked among the nation’s top seven all season. The Cavs, who enter this week’s four-team CCC tournament as the No. 2 seed, fell by a 2-1 score in overtime to CCC rival College of Idaho last Friday, a victory which helped propel the Yotes into the No. 22 position in this week’s poll.

College of Idaho, cracking the Top 25 for the first time in program history, is13-2 on the season. The Yotes will host fourth-seeded Oregon Tech Saturday in the opening round of the conference tournament. In the other semifinal, Concordia (16-2) will host third-seeded Corban Saturday at Delta Park in Portland.

In volleyball, College of Idaho is rated eighth for the third consecutive week and is listed among the NAIA’s top 10 programs for the seventh consecutive poll. The Yotes, 19-2 overall and leading the CCC with a 14-1 mark, have been rated as high as sixth nationally this season.

Southern Oregon, also 19-2 on the season, remained in the No. 12 position for the third consecutive week. The Raiders trail College of Idaho by a half-game in the CCC standings and take a 13-1 conference ledger into home matches this weekend vs. Corban and Northwest Christian.

Eastern Oregon continues to receive votes in the national volleyball poll.

In men’s soccer, CCC leader Warner Pacific is the lone conference team to poll points, but has not cracked the Top 25.

New men’s and women’s cross country Top 25 polls will be released Wednesday.
