Raiders Make Quick Work of Warriors
ASHLAND, ORE - Leah Bergstrom and Leanne Stennett each had 10 kills as 12th-ranked Southern Oregon scored a 25-15, 25-19, 25-22 victory over Corban tonight at McNeal Pavilion.
With the victory, Southern Oregon reached 20 wins in a season for the 27th time in program history and the third straight year. SOU improved to 20-2 overall and 14-1 in Cascade Conference play. Corban dropped to 9-16 overall and 7-9 in conference action.
Southern Oregon finished the match with an attack percentage of .326, including a blistering .448 attack percentage in the opening set to take command of the match.
As a team, SOU recorded six aces, including three by senior Corynn Jorgensen.
Angela Spieker led the Raiders in assists with 24 and also added nine digs. Becky Johnstone had a match-high 12 digs for SOU.
Corban got a team-high eight kills by Jenny Harman.
Southern Oregon hosts Northwest Christian tomorrow night in the annual senior night match.
