EL CAJON, Calif. -- The Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team completed a successful California road trip with a 59-41 victory over San Diego Christian.
The Mountaineers' Tana Stickney led EOU with 16 points on six of nine shooting from the floor. The senior totaled 38 points in the two games in the Golden State.
Ashlee Michelson scored 14 points for Eastern Oregon. The senior added nine rebounds and shot seven for nine from the field. Kyle Miller had a team-high 10 rebounds for EOU.
Eastern jumped out to an early lead and led at halftime 36-18. The Mountaineers shot 48 percent from the field, compared to the Hawks' 26 percent. EOU shot 33 percent from three-point range, while SDCC shot 17 percent from behind the perimeter. Eastern Oregon outrebounded San Diego Christian 39-34.
EOU hosts the Aramark Holiday Classic Nov. 20 and 21 in La Grande. Friday The College of Idaho will play Willamette University at 7 p.m. in Quinn Coliseum. The Mountaineers will play Willamette Saturday evening at 5. The game time was moved from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m.
