KANSAS CITY, Mo. – One day after being recognized by the conference, senior Aaron Franklin (Red Bluff, Calif.) of Corban's men's soccer team earned national recognition as the NAIA Defensive Player of the Week for his performance last week against Oregon Tech and The College of Idaho.

In posting back-to-back shutouts against the Hustlin' Owls and Coyotes, Franklin pushed his scoreless streak to 131-plus minutes and has not allowed a goal since the 49:34 mark of the Warriors' home game against The College of Idaho on October 23rd.

Franklin, a 5-foot-10 four-year goalkeeper, registered a combined 12 saves in 180 minutes of action last week that included a game-high four saves in Corban's 2-0 victory over Oregon Tech and a game-high eight saves in the Warriors' 1-0 win against The College of Idaho.

In posting two shutouts, Franklin runs his season total to four and his career mark to 11 which is second all-time in program history behind former Warrior Mike Patron (1994-97).

Over his three-plus year career, Franklin has stood between the pipes for nearly 4,900 minutes and registered 334 saves. The senior co-captain's Goals Against Average (GAA) of 1.72 ranks second all-time in Warrior history.

This is Franklin's first national award and Corban's first since former men's basketball player Eric Fiegi (2002-06) was honored on February 15, 2006.

Corban, who is 4-10-1 overall and 3-9-0 in conference play this season, will take the field today – November 3rd – in its final road game of the season against the Eagles of Northwest beginning at 2:30 p.m. in Kirkland on NU's Athletic Field.

The Warriors will return home on Saturday, November 7th, when they host conference rival Northwest Christian beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Warrior Field in the final game of the season.
