The Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team fell in a pair of exhibition matches at the University of Idaho Friday and Washington State University Sunday.

The Mountaineers' Shaylee Nielsen had a team-high 10 points in Idaho's 61-43 victory. The Vandals and EOU each shot 36 percent in the game. Eastern shot only six free throws in the game, but made five three-pointers. Both teams did not shoot very well from behind the perimeter, Eastern Oregon was 27 percent and the Vandals were 22 percent.

Rachele Kloke scored a game-high 11 points for Idaho. Yinka Oloruniffe had a game-high eight rebounds. Western Athletic Conference member, University of Idaho, had 30 of its points in the paint to Eastern's 12. The Vandals turned 26 EOU turnovers into 30 points.

The score was 37-28 in favor of Idaho with 15:52 remaining in regulation. The Vandals then went on a 9-0 run and stretched that into a 19-5 run to open the lead.

Sunday the Mountaineers played in front of nearly 800 people at Washington State's Friel Court. The Cougars, powered by four double-digit scorers, defeated Eastern Oregon, 94-52.

Ashlee Michelson and Kyle Miller led EOU with 14 and 10 points respectively for the Mountaineers. Eastern turned the ball over 28 times in the loss, compared to Washington State's 21.

EOU trailed WSU 22-18 early in the game before the Cougars closed the half on a 23-12 run. Washington State opened the second half on a 17-2 run and that sealed the win.

The Mountaineers travel to Walla Walla University Tuesday. Eastern Oregon's next home game is Nov. 21 in the Aramark Holiday Classic against Willamette University.
