PORTLAND, Ore. – Jessica Ramback of Concordia University has been voted the Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Year, while The College of Idaho’s Colleen Smith was selected as Defensive Player of the Year, the league office announced.

Ramback was named the CCC’s Offensive Player of the Year by a vote of the conference coaches. She helped lead the Cavaliers to their 10th straight Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament championship as she put away the winner in a 1-0 victory over No. 1-seeded College of Idaho on Saturday. The senior forward from Mill Creek, Wash., led the CCC in goals scored with 18 and total points with 41. The College of Idaho’s Colleen Smith was selected by the conference coaches as Defensive Player of the Year. She anchored a Coyote team that was tops in the CCC in goals allowed (0.65 per game) and second in goals against average (0.65) and shutouts (11).

The College of Idaho also laid claim to this year’s Newcomer of the Year in junior forward Erika Mouritsen (13 goals, 2 assists), and co-Coach of the Year in fourth-year boss Niki Taylor, who guided the ‘Yotes to a 14-3 overall record. Corban College’s Marty Ziesemer, whose team went 6-2 in CCC play, was selected with Taylor as co-Coach of the Year.
