Busch Sets Team Three-Point Record as Lady Owls Roll Over Bruins, 83-45

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Senior Lisa Busch (Eugene, Ore.) recorded a school-record eight 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 24 points, as the Oregon Tech Lady Owls defeated Bethany University 83-45 tonight in game 2 of the Oregon Tech Classic.

The Owls even their season record to 6-6 overall, while Bethany falls to 2-8 on the season.

Bethany jumped out to a 4-0 advantage to start the contest, but the Owls would quickly tie the game on a Nicole Morgan (Port Angeles, Wash.) trey along with a free throw by Kellie Morey (Redmond, Ore.).

The first of five first half Lisa Busch three-point field goals gave the Owls their first lead of the game at 7-4. Tech took their first double digit lead at 20-8, midway through the first period, on another Lisa Busch 3-point field goal. Back-to-Back three's by Busch would then give the Owls their first 20 point advantage, 33-11.

The Owls would outscore their opponent 12-5 for the remainder of the first period, giving Tech a comfortable 45-16 lead at intermission.

Busch would tie the school-record on her sixth 3-pointer of the night, giving the Owls their first 30 point advantage, 48-16. Busch would then set the school-record with her seventh three with 8:06 to play on a Colleen Hunt (Silver Lake, Ore.) assist. Busch would end the night going 8-for-9 from long range and set a new school mark, as the Owls defeated Bethany by an 83-45 final.

Oregon Tech shot 44.8% on 26-of-58, while the Owl defense held the Bruins to only 29.2% from the field. The Owls also outrebounded their opponent 52-to-23.

Busch's 24 points was followed by Kellie Morey with 18 points, on 4-of-4 from the three point line. Morgan Hofman (Bend, Ore.) scored 10 points to go with four rebounds and three assists. Aundrea Albright (Central Point, Ore.) grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and scored seven points. Brittany Cherry (Pasco, Wash.) and Kaleo Renstrom (Bend, Ore.) came away with seven rebounds each in the win.

The Bruins were led by Ashlee Sherman with 13 points, followed by Rachael Estabrook with 12.

Oregon Tech will play William Jessup tomorrow in game 2 of the Oregon Tech Classic beginning at 5:30pm.
