Lynn Kennedy's SOU women's team got some depth today with the addition of D-I transfer Jamie Roupp.
Raiders Add Roupp to Roster
ASHLAND, ORE. -- The Southern Oregon women’s basketball team got a little deeper today with the addition of former Ashland High star Jamie Roupp to the roster.
Roupp became eligible today after transferring from Portland State where she just finished up classes from the Fall semester.
Roupp earned an NCAA Division I scholarship out of high school to attend Washington State in 2006 and then transferred to Portland State. She played as a reserve at both schools and has two years remaining to play.
“Jamie will be a nice addition to our team,” SOU head coach Lynn Kennedy said. “She gives us a veteran player at the guard spot and another weapon on the offensive end. Plus she’s a great competitor and plays to win every time she goes out.”
Southern Oregon is 11-1 on the season and moved up to ninth in this week’s NAIA Division II Top 25 poll. The ranking is the highest ranking under Kennedy and is a move up from last week’s No. 12.
Southern Oregon travels to Simpson Tuesday night for a women’s and men’s doubleheader in Redding, Calif.
