Staker, Smith Lead Raiders Past Red Hawks
REDDING, CALIF. - Ryan Staker and Justonn Smith combined for 43 points as Southern Oregon scored an 82-64 victory over Simpson tonight in Redding, Calif.
Southern Oregon improved to 8-3 overall. The Raiders have conference games Friday and Saturday at Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho and then travel to NCAA Division I Utah Valley State on Monday.
Staker finished with 25 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Raiders. Smith had 18 points and 10 rebounds. Humphrey Jackson finished with 10 points and seven assists.
Jason Stubbs had 19 points for the Red Hawks.
Southern Oregon jumped out to a 12-0 lead to start the game and then led 20-6 on their way to a 33-25 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Red Hawks cut the lead to 49-40 before SOU scored six straight to take control again.
