PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific rallied from a 15 point deficit in the second half, only to falter late in a 71-66 loss to Concordia tonight in CCC play.

The 15 point Cavalier advantage (49-34) with 14:16 to play was the visitor’s largest, and came on the heels of an 11 point halftime advantage.

Later in the second period trailing 54-41, the Knights switched to an extended zone defense and went on a 15-0 burst to take the lead at 56-54. Ann Snodderly stopped the bleeding for CU with a pair of free throws.

Moments later, Concordia responded with a 12-0 run of their own to erase a three point WP lead and open up a 69-60 advantage that they would not relinquish.

Danielle Clausen led CU with 17 points and 7 assists. A trio of Cavaliers added 13 points each – Rachel Scarpelli, Megan Padilla, and Ann Snodderly.

The Knights were paced by Kristina Schumacher with 15 points on 5 of 8 shooting. Also scoring 15 off the bench was senior post Caitlin Morgan, who hit her first six shots and finished 7 of 9 from the floor. Kelsey Mattsen added 14 points and 4 assists.

Concordia improves to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in CCC play. Warner Pacific drops to 6-6 and 1-2.
