No. 5 Oregon Tech Runs Past Corban, 90-51
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Four Owls finished in double figures and Oregon Tech ran away from Corban College in tonight's Cascade Conference contest by a final of 90-51.
Oregon Tech moves to 12-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play with the victory. Corban drops to 5-9 on the season and 0-4 in the conference standings.
After a 2-2 tie, a Justin Parnell 3-pointer with 18:25 remaining in the first period gave the Owls a lead they would not relinquish. A Myles Daley jumper with just over 12 minutes in the half boosted Tech to their first 10 point lead, 18-8, and just five minutes later a Mike Nieraeth trey gave Tech a 20 point advantage with 7:41 on the clock. Oregon Tech would eventually take a 26 point lead to the intermission, 47-21.
The team's traded points for the first five minutes of the second half; before the No. 5 ranked Hustlin' Owls took a 30-plus point advantage that they would hold on to throughout the remainder of the game, moving on to a 90-51 win.
Parnell knocked down 24 points to lead all scorers, while grabbing five rebounds and handing out seven assists. Daley and Andy Siverly finished the evening with 15 points each, with Siverly adding a team-high six rebounds in the win. Joseph Foster netted 12 points for Tech.
Erik Cronrath was a bright spot for the Warriors offensively, finishing with 18 points and grabbing a game-high eight rebounds. Drew Ross followed with eight points, with Jacob Kopra and Ben Potloff hitting for six points each.
Oregon Tech will host Northwest Christian College in more conference action tomorrow beginning at 7:30 pm.
