Geoducks Announce Three Additions to '09 Men's Soccer Roster
OLYMPIA, Wash. - Men's soccer announces three additional players to join the team. Clarence Wright, Eddie Mendoza and Casey Collins signed their letter of intent to play beginning the 2009 season.
Clarence Wright, a Junior transfer from Pierce College has signed his Letter of Intent to begin his Geoduck Soccer career in the fall. Wright was a two-time NWAACC All Star at Pierce and a two-time NWAACC Southern Region Most Valuable Player.
While attending Wilson High School in Tacoma Wright was a 4A Narrows League 1st Team forward.
Eddie Mendoza from Pasco High School and the U.S. Development Academy Crossfire Premier Club has signed on to be a Geoduck. Mendoza will join Wright on the 2009 team.
Say's head coach John Purtteman, "Eddie is a fantastic technical player who is fluid and creative". Eddie will run in the midfield for the Geoducks.
Evergreen lost a great keeper when Matt Stalnik graduated. Coach Purtteman believes Casey Collins of Whatcom Community College will bring similar talent to the team.
Collins played soccer at Bishop Blanchet High School before attending Whatcom. At 6-2 Casey will be an imposing presence in the net for the Geoducks
