KANSAS CITY – On the strength of 13 consecutive wins and a league-leading 14-4 Cascade Collegiate Conference record, Eastern Oregon’s men’s basketball team has moved back into the top 10 of the NAIA Division II Top 25 poll, which was released Monday by the national office. EOU, which moved from 11th to ninth in the rankings, was rated as high as No. 5 in the nation earlier this season, but fell out of the Top 25 completely in mid-January after starting league play with four losses in its first six games.

The Mountaineers, 21-5 overall, are one of two Cascade Collegiate Conference programs in this week’s men’s top 10; Oregon Tech, which is 23-5 overall and 13-5 in league play, is ranked 10th. Warner Pacific College (20-6, 13-5) moved up three spots to the No. 13 position. Two other CCC teams – College of Idaho and Evergreen – received votes, but did not crack the Top 25.

In the NAIA Division II women’s top 25, also released Monday, league-leader Concordia continued its climb up the national rankings. The Cavaliers (24-2, 17-1) moved up one spot to the No. 8 position after extending their winning streak to nine games last week. The No. 8 ranking is the highest in CU history.

College of Idaho (25-3, 16-2) also moved up one spot from last week’s poll, checking in at the No. 11 position. Southern Oregon (23-4, 15-3), which has won 12 consecutive games, climbed two spots to the No. 19 position.
