LA GRANDE, Ore. - The Mountaineers battled hard against the #11 ranked College of Idaho. Eastern trailed most of the half, but only by as few as a couple baskets. The Mounties continued to battle into the half, only trailing by four, 33-29.

The Mountaineers came out with the same effort the second half against the Yotes. EOU never backed down and handled College of Idaho's pressure the entire forty minutes of play; however, Eastern struggled to keep up with the depth of College of Idaho's bench. The Mountaineers shot 27% from the field and 17% from behind the arc on the night. EOU out-rebounded the Yotes 55-31, and had 27 second chance points to the Yotes 6; however this wasn't enough to clinch the win, Eastern fell short 69-58 against the #11 ranked College of Idaho.

Weissenfluh also noted, "We played with a lot more composure tonight than last time we faced the College of Idaho. They are a good team and have good depth, we just ran out of gas. I'm proud of our rebounding effort. We struggled shooting because we lost our legs and began rushing our shots."

Tana Stickney had a team-high, double-double with an outstanding 18 rebounds and 21 points. Also in double figures for the Mountaineers was Alyssa Garro with 12 points and teammate Kyle Miller added 10 points, 8 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists. Head Coach Anji Weissenfluh added, "Tana worked her tail off. We had to have her in the game and she played with a purpose. Win or lose, Tana put together a great performance."

College of Idaho's Christon Vander Esch had a game-high 25 points, and teammate Whitney Owen contributed 10 points. Eastern held the Yote's standout, Nicole Gall, to only 9 points.

Next up, the Mountaineers will travel to Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, February 21st at 5:30p.m. PST to face the Beacons of Northwest Christian (3-15, 8-19 CCC) for their last regular season game.
