Hooters Thump Missionaries
McMinnville, Ore - Playing in game 2 of the Jim Doran Auto Classic at Linfield College, The Oregon Tech Hustlin' Owls improved to 5-6 on the season with an 11-1 win over Whitman College.
After a Kory Locken (Phoenix, OR) leadoff walk, Oregon Tech's Ryson Mauricio (Mililani, HI) pounded a fastball over the left field wall to put Tech up 2-0 in the first inning. Tech added another run in the second inning on a Locken single to put OIT up 3-0.
The Missionaries put together back to back hits in the top of the 4th inning to scratch across their only run of the game and trim the Tech lead to 3-1. Oregon Tech broke the game open when Zack Earle (Medford, OR) made it 5-1 with a bases loaded single in the bottom of the 4th. Earle was at it again putting the game away with a 3-run homerun in the bottom of the 6th.
Tech's Shea Bedortha (Medford, OR) pitched 5 innings allowing just 4-hits and 1-run for his first win of the year.
The Hustlin' Owls will play Pacific Lutheran Saturday, February 21st at 2:30pm in game 6 of the Classic being played at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon.
