Corban's Steigleman Tabbed CCC Women's Hoop Player of Week
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Corban’s Katie Steigleman, a freshman forward from Eugene, Ore., has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in women’s basketball.
The 5-11 Steigleman played an instrumental role in Corban’s back-to-back victories last week. The two wins helped secure a berth in the CCC Tournament for the Warriors, who travel to Ashland to face Southern Oregon in a first-round game Tuesday night.
In an 86-79 upset victory over No. 19 Southern Oregon on Friday, a win which snapped SOU’s 12-game winning streak, Steigleman scored 19 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished eight assists for the Warriors. The following night Steigleman had 12 points, eight rebounds and two assists in a 51-48 victory over Oregon Tech.
Steigleman currently ranks third in the CCC in scoring. Corban is seeded sixth in the CCC Tournament.
