Yotes Win Opener at Simpson, 12-4
REDDING, Calif. - Despite a long journey this morning to Northern California, The College of Idaho baseball team ran their win streak to five with a 12-4 NAIA West victory over Simpson University.
Leaving The C of I campus at 5 a.m. this morning, the team had their schedule pushed up due to an impending late winter storm set for later in the weekend. It did not affect the team, as both Cody Brubaker and Brad Carlsen each hit solo home runs and Luke Howarth had a three-run triple in the victory.
Jake Bottari picked up his first win of the year, tossing six and a third innings of scoreless relief.
No box score was provided by Simpson as of Saturday morning.
The two teams will meet in the regularly scheduled doubleheader at 11 a.m. on Saturday, with a single-game, weather-permitting, set for Sunday.
