Big Run Pushes WPC Past SOU Men
ASHLAND, ORE. - Warner Pacific ended the game on a 26-7 run as the 14th-ranked Knights scored a 74-60 victory over the Southern Oregon men tonight at McNeal Pavilion.
Warner Pacific improved to 18-6 overall and 11-5 in Cascade Conference play. Southern Oregon dropped to 8-17 overall and 6-10 in conference action.
Adam Moore led Warner Pacific with 19 points. Tom Higgins had 12 points for the Knights.
Jarrad Childs led Southern Oregon with 15 points and Josh McDermott finished with 11 points.
After trailing 37-35 at the half, the Raiders came out in the second half and led 45-41 on a pair of free throws by junior Austin Wolfer. An Eli Thornton layup had the Raiders up 51-45 with 13:41 to play. The lead was five at 53-48 with 12:12 to play when the Knights took off.
The Knights finished the game on a 26-7 run to stay in the conference title hunt.
SOU shot 30 percent in the second half from the field and a 1-for-7 effort from the 3-point land.
The Raiders host arch-rival Oregon Tech Tuesday night at McNeal Pavilion.
