No. 14 Concordia placed second out of seven teams on Tuesday.
Concordia Second in Loaded LCSC Field
CLARKSTON, Idaho—With four teams ranked inside the NAIA top 20, the Concordia women’s golf team placed second at the Lewis-Clark State College Invitational held at the Clarkston Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.
No. 13 Victoria (325-334—660) took the team crown by seven stokes over No. 14 Concordia (322-345—667). No. 15 Lewis-Clark State (340-343—683) edged No. 12 Rocky Mountain (352-343—695) for third place.
With all four of its scorers inside the top 10, the Cavaliers held a four-stroke advantage over Victoria following the first round of play, but continued strong play by medalist Anne Balsey (77-81—158) pushed the Vikes to the team title.
Concordia’s Lindsay Aho (79-84—163) and Kim Lindow (81-82—163) shared runner-up honors with LC State’s Cortney Shrout (79-84—163) after all thre tied for second with a two-round total of 163.
Seattle University’s Dianne Alcantara (80-86—166) and Victoria’s Alyssa Herkel (84-82—166) tied for fifth place.
Kim Tilton (81-91—172) finished as CU’s No. 3 golfer, dropping five places to11th on the second day. Sara Taylor (90-88—174), the lone Cavalier to improve on the second round, placed in a two-way tie for 16th to round out the Concordia scoring.
Concordia returns to the links on March 23-24 when it hosts the Cavalier Spring Classic at Tri-Mountain Golf Course in Ridgefield, Wash.
