NU Signs Two '09 Washington State Cup Champions
KIRKLAND, Wash. - Head coach Gary McIntosh announced two key signings for the Eagle men's soccer team today. Alex Taylor of Jackson High School in Mill Creek, Wash., and Edgar Esquivel of Skyline High School in Issaquah have signed their letters of intent to play for the Eagles in the fall.
"This is an exciting time for Northwest University soccer. The signing of two State Cup Champion players is a huge for NU soccer," coach McIntosh commented. "Signing two players the caliber of Alex and Edgar to be a part of our team puts us in a great position for getting wins next year. Both of these guys are top club level players and have played at the highest state level. Alex is a center midfield player who has the skill and creativeness to run the middle for us," McIntosh continued. "He is capable of scoring goals but also creating them. Edgar is an outside midfield player who will be dangerous on the outside for us and he is a good attacking player and will be a great offensive threat for us next year. These are the type of players we need to continue to sign in order for us to continue to make the playoffs each year," coach McIntosh concluded.
