SALEM, Ore. – At the annual Charles Bowles Spring Classic, Corban's men's and women's track & field team competed along with two other Cascade Collegiate Conference schools Friday at McCullough Stadium on the campus of Willamette University.

Following a weekend in which five student-athletes met the CCC Championship qualification marks in seven different events, three female and four male athletes met the minimum standard marks for competition at the uncoming conference championship meet in May.

On the women's side, sophomore Bianca Davis (Ontario, Ore.) was the first Warrior to take the track in the 200 meter dash finishing fifth with a time of 29.91.

Next up was freshman Amy Renfro (Albany, Ore.), who competed in the 1,500 meter run finishing ninth thanks to a time of 5:12.01. Renfro's time was over two seconds better than her previous season-best of 5:14.55 that was registered at last weekend's Saints Open and qualified her for the CCC Championships. Renfro was joined in the 1,500 meter race by fellow freshman Jennifer Hague (Florence, Ore.), who finished 12th in a time of 5:17.68.

In the women's 5K, sophomore Karissa Griggs (Athena, Ore.) met the conference championship qualification standards thanks to a time of 19:26.71 that was good enough for an eighth place finish.

In the relay events, Corban's 'A' team finished as the runner-up in both the 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter relays. In the 4x100 meter relay, the Warriors clocked a time of 53.35 that was just under three seconds behind race winners Willamette. Corban would take the track once again in the 4x400 meter relay and registered a time of 4:16.39, which was more than nine seconds behind The College of Idaho.

On the men's side, freshman Joshua Christensen (Salem, Ore.) took the track first in the 100 meter dash and finished ninth with a time of 12.40.

In the 400 meter dash, sophomore Beau St. Peter (Keizer, Ore.) finished third thanks to a time of 51.63 to qualify for the CCC Championships.

Sophomore Ben Search (Battle Ground, Wash.) qualified for the conference championship meet in the 800 meter run thanks to a time of 1:59.97, while finishing fourth overall in the event. Search's time was a mere 3/100th of a second faster than the qualification standards, while junior Jeffrey Schloemer (Mt. Vernon, Wash.), freshman Kevin Coriano (Anchorage, Alaska), and sophomore Jason Hardrath (Baker, Ore.) finished 10th, 18th, and 19th respectively with times of 2:03.57, 2:12.81, and 2:14.58.
