Oregon Tech Downs Penguins, Fall to Willamette
Redding, Calif. – The Oregon Tech softball team split a doubleheader today in Redding, Calif. defeating Dominican University 8-0 in the first game, but falling 3-0 to Willamette University in game two. The Owls are even on the year at 6-6.
Bess Fagan improved to 2-4 on the year with the game one win. Fagan held the Penguin bats to only three hits, in the shortened contest, and was 2-3 at the plate with an RBI. Amber Sinicrope led the game off with a double, finishing with two hits and an RBI. Chelsea McNeil was 2-3 and drove in a run, while Sunceray Titus added an RBI on a first inning double.
The Owls failed to plate a run in the nightcap, falling to the Bearcats 3-0.
Andria Wheatley picked up a pair of hits for the Owls in the loss. Amber Sinicrope doubled and Sunceray Titus singled in the game to account for the other two hits for Tech.
Becca Anderson (3-2) went seven innings in the circle giving up nine hits, two earned runs and struck out two in the loss.
The Owls will play a single game against No. 8 ranked NCAA III Willamette University tomorrow at 11:00 am, before making their home debut against Simpson University beginning at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 25 at the Oregon Tech Softball Complex.
