NNU Knocks off Mounties

LA GRANDE, Ore.- In the double header against Northwest Nazarene University (4-6), EOU came up on the bottom with losses of 9-6 and 8-1.
Although EOU's bats were not a problem in the loss, they struggled to bring runners home across the plate, leaving 15 runners stranded. Megan Platz led the way the Mountaineers hitting 4-6, including one homerun and two RBI's. This is her 5th homerun of the season. Also stepping plate was teammate Ashleigh Byrne who went 2-6 on the day.
Head Coach Missy Wheeler noted, "Megan Platz is hitting very well and continues to hit above the 400's. She is doing a good job; however, we just need to have others step up in order to win ball games."
Eastern outhit NNU 9-7 in the first game of the double header today.
Next up the Mountaineers will travel to face Walla Walla Community College tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4th at 3:00p.m. in Walla Walla, Wash. Then the Mounties will turn around to face Blue Mountain Community College on March 7th at 1:00 p.m. on the road again.
