SOU Track Team Will Open at Home
ASHLAND, Ore. -- The Southern Oregon track and field team will host the annual Artie Sullivan Invitational Saturday at Raider Stadium.
The field events start at 11 a.m. and the running events start at 12:30 p.m.
The meet will feature SOU, Oregon Tech, College of the Siskiyous, Southwestern Oregon CC and Lane CC.
The meet will be the first for SOU head track and field/cross country coach Brent Ericksen. Ericksen led the men's cross country team to a Cascade Conference championship and a fourth place finish at the NAIA National Championships in the Fall.
Many of those distance runners will now star for the SOU men's team.
The women's track and field team will be led by senior javelin thrower Stephanie Miller.
After this week's Artie Sullivan, the Raiders will compete at UC Davis next week.
